This presentation summarises a 90 minute interactive session focussing on the Mumbai and Dharavi series of resources in the Pumpkin Streaming Library*. It provides background information from the filming, explores critical approaches to teaching urban issues and challenges in LICs and NEEs and includes links to new material designed to support teaching.

The session was structured around a series of questions.
1. At what point (if at all) should I introduce the word “slum”?
2. How diverse is Dharavi?
3. What strategies can I use to deepen students’ understanding?
4. How helpful are personal stories?
5. How might informal settlements differ?
